Intersection Of Scott Blvd & Muscatine Closed Beginning July 27 In Iowa City

Weather permitting, beginning on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, the intersection of Scott Boulevard and Muscatine Avenue/American Legion Road will be closed to through traffic.

A detour route will be posted utilizing US Highway 6, First Avenue, and Court Street. This closure will facilitate utility and pavement reconstruction associated with the American Legion Road Improvements Project. It is anticipated that normal traffic will resume by mid-October.

Motorists are to take note of this construction work and allow extra travel time or seek an alternate route during this time. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling in all construction areas.
