Iowa River Trail Closed South Of Highway 6

Iowa River Trail is closed south of Highway 6 as recent heavy rains have washed out areas under the trail. The trail will remain closed until repairs can be made.

Closure signage is placed south of Highway 6 where the damage begins. Additional signage is placed near Napoleon Park alerting trail users of the closure. Iowa City trail users should be cautious when using trails near bodies of water, and be aware of the possibility of high water and flash floods.

City staff continues to monitor the situation and may close additional trails and park areas as needed.
