From New Pioneer Co-op:

– New Pioneer Food Co-op hosted a press conference today to announce its decision to open a third Co-op store. The Co-op has secured a purchase agreement for the building at 3338 Center Point Road NE, Cedar Rapids.

An intensive property search and market studies culminated in the selection ofthis location to better serve current members and to reach new members in Linn County. The New Pioneer Co-op’s Board of Directors and its management team believe that adding a third New Pioneer Food Co-op store will expand the market for local farmers and producers and provide more local and organic products to more people, in line with the Co-op's mission statement: “... to stimulate the local agricultural production of natural and organic foods by providing a market for such foods.” In 2012, New Pioneer purchased $1.8 million in local goods from local growers and producers.
