This Week's Local Forecast

March is here, now when will spring arrive?

Iowans will undoubtedly be thinking hopefully about warmer temperatures in March. This week isn’t expected to be a glimpse of spring, but at least temperatures should stay in double figures most the week.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast for the Iowa City area looks like this:

  • Tuesday - High in the mid 30s as temperatures drop through the day with high winds. Snow/rain mix likely throughout the day but not expected to accumulate more than an inch at this time. Low of in the single digits.
  • Wednesday - Sunny and breezy with a high in the teens and a low around zero.
  • Thursday - Sunny with a high in the teens and a low in the single digits.
  • Friday - Higher temperatures, near 40, expected.
