Resident ambassadors and Sales Associates introduce prospective residents to Tallgrass Creek's vibrant lifestyle.

When it comes to choosing a retirement community, nothing beats the experience of seeing it for yourself. That's why Tallgrass Creek, an Erickson Senior Living community in Overland Park, Kans., offers a variety of ways to do just that.
From friendly luncheons and personal appointments to overnight stays on campus, every opportunity is designed to help prospective residents explore the community at their own pace--with no added pressure.
"We really focus on providing an abundance of information while building relationships," says Senior Sales Associate Dana Lormor. "We want everyone to feel comfortable asking questions and have all the insight they need to ensure Tallgrass Creek is the right community for them."

Explore your options
One of the best ways to get a genuine feel for life at Tallgrass Creek is to attend one of many on-campus events, which often feature current residents.

"Recently, we held a Resident Panel, where a number of current residents spoke about their experience, why they decided to move, and what was most important to them," Lormor says. "Attendees appreciate hearing directly from people who once stood in their shoes and getting their perspective."
Judy Geer, who lives at Tallgrass Creek with her husband Wes, says that her own positive experience inspired her to help others feel confident in and excited about their next chapter in life.
"We are so pleased with Tallgrass," she says, noting that sharing her love for the community with newcomers is a joy. "I want people to know that they should not wait too long to enjoy all the things here. There's the pool, the woodshop, and the garden. You want to retire and enjoy life! You can't do that if you wait too long."
Lormor notes that others choose to book a personal appointment to learn more.
"That can be so essential in helping us find the right home for you," she says. "We want to find out what's important to you and what your priorities are. Then, when we go out for a tour of campus, we can customize it based on your interests."
Live the Life
Judy encourages prospective residents to take advantage of the Priority List as well. In addition to saving their spot in line for a residence at Tallgrass Creek, members receive invitations to exclusive educational events, updates on community happenings, and access to planning and moving support.
In fact, Judy and Wes were able to secure their ideal floor plan thanks to their Priority List status.
"The floor plan we wanted became available, but it was the only one. Two other people on the Priority List behind us wanted it, but we had first right of refusal. We looked at it and moved a year earlier than we had planned," Judy says. "It couldn't have been a better choice for us."
Priority List members also have the chance to sign up for a Live the Life stay--a unique, immersive experience that allows prospective residents to test-drive the community's vibrant lifestyle. Members stay overnight in a beautifully appointed guest suite, enjoy amenities, join club meetings, dine at on-campus restaurants, and chat with current residents.
"What better way to see what life would be like here than to stay a night or two?" says Lormor. "It's a great chance to ask all the questions you want and get real feedback from current residents."
Sales Associate Felicia Doran agrees, saying, "Live the Life allows prospective residents to not only experience our beautiful community and all of its great opportunities, but to interact with our amazing resident ambassadors and others. It is an irreplaceable opportunity."
Don't wait!
When reflecting on her journey to Tallgrass Creek, Judy emphasizes her one piece of advice repeatedly: Don't wait too long.
"If you wait too long, you'll miss out on a lot of fun activities and meeting new people," Judy says. "And who wants to take care of a house where you have to replace old things, like your hot water heater, or mow the lawn? Those are things you never have to do here!"
At Tallgrass Creek, the choice is clear: See for yourself, stay for a visit, and discover what makes this community so special.
