T-Mobile Does Not Want A Baseball Park Next To Its Overland Park Campus (sportstalkflorida.com) — T-Mobile is warning it may move about 3,500 jobs away from its Overland Park campus if the Kansas City Royals build a new ballpark nearby with state support. Royals owner John Sherman is weighing Overland Park and other sites as Kansas and Missouri compete with major public financing packages to land or keep new stadium projects.

2. Salina nursing students see Kansas rural health care up close (kumc.edu) — A KU nursing student from Overland Park joined classmates on a rural “bus tour” to see how small critical access hospitals operate in western Kansas. The group visited facilities in Scott City and Colby, hearing how nurses there handle broad responsibilities, intensive on-the-job training, and close teamwork that shape rural health care careers across the state.
3. 350th Basic Training Class graduates from Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (ku.edu) — Two new Overland Park Police Department officers, Trinity Burgoon and William Buxton, have just graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center’s 350th Basic Training Class and will soon be serving locally. They’re among 20 recruits from across Kansas who completed 14 weeks of intensive instruction, heard encouragement from law enforcement leaders, and earned state certification to begin their policing careers.
4. Judy Kathleene Thomason (beechtreenews.com) — One of Judy Kathleene “Kathy” Thomason’s surviving children lives in Overland Park, giving local readers a personal connection to her life story. The longtime radio personality, book reviewer, and animal advocate died in Nashville at 71, and her family plans a January celebration of life in Tennessee while encouraging donations to senior dog and animal shelters she loved.
