Frankfort Toddler's Death: Mom, Boyfriend Charged

FRANKFORT, KY — A Frankfort mother and her boyfriend have been charged in the death of the woman's 3-year-old son.

Randell Dennemann, 30, and Deanna Hose, 26, were arrested Wednesday and charged in the June 28 death of Avery Hose, local media outlets reported. Dennemann was arrested at his place of employment and Hose was arrested in the 300 block of Washington Street, Maj. Rob Warfel of the Frankfort Police Department told The State Journal.

Hospital officials suspected abuse and the Fayette County coroner ruled the boy's death a homicide. Avery Hose sustained blunt force trauma to the head, Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland said. An investigation revealed the boy had been in Dennemann's care, and Deanna Hose told investigators she was told the injuries were accidental, which is inconsistent with medical reports, Cleveland said.

Dennemann is charged with murder and Hose is charged with complicity to murder. It's unclear if they have lawyers. Their 6-month-old child has been removed from their custody, and appears to be uninjured.
