Attorneys say they believe additional patients, family members, or staff may have witnessed misconduct or safety issues and are offering confidential, no-cost consultations to help identify other possible victims in Lexington.

2. Is pay becoming a barrier to public service? Outgoing Lexington councilmember shares concerns (fox56news.com) — Lexington residents may soon weigh in on possible changes to council pay and term lengths, as several members, including Liz Sheehan, say current compensation and time demands limit who can afford to serve. With salaries set at about $40,000 for what’s effectively a full-time workload, a civic assembly this spring will review the city charter and could send reform proposals to voters.

Kosair for Kids pledges $2M in NICU enhancements (wkyt.com) — Families in Lexington could see upgraded neonatal intensive care at Baptist Health Lexington thanks to a $1 million gift from Kosair for Kids for new monitors, incubators, and other specialized equipment. Another $1 million will expand and relocate the NICU in Corbin, while additional donations support NICUs in Louisville and southern Indiana as part of a broader regional partnership.

Lexington family loses home to fire days before Christmas (wkyt.com) — A Lexington family on Deauville Drive lost their longtime home in an accidental fire just days before Christmas and is now crammed into a single motel room with two dogs. With documents, gifts, and essentials destroyed, they say they’ve struggled to get help from aid organizations and are asking the community for support through donations and direct contact.
