1. Snapshots of Lexington today: Photo exhibit on display at Pam Miller Arts Center (kentucky.com) — If you want to see Lexington through your neighbors’ eyes, a new “Lexington at 250” photo exhibit is now open at the Pam Miller Arts Center downtown through Feb. 7. Curated by longtime local journalist Tom Eblen, the show features 59 images capturing everyday life, diversity, and changing cityscapes across Lexington and Fayette County, with convenient afternoon and evening hours.
   

2. Reward offered after man breaks into Lexington store, smashes displays (fox56news.com) — A Lexington trading card and gaming shop, OHKO Games on Reynolds Road, is asking for the public’s help after a man broke in, smashed display cases with a crowbar, and reportedly stole money. Security cameras captured the suspect and a Jeep outside, and anyone with information is urged to contact Lexington Police or submit an anonymous tip to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
   

3. FCPS's Demetrus Liggins a finalist for AASA'S National Superintendent of the Year Award (lex18.com) — Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins, based in Lexington, has been named one of four finalists for AASA’s 2026 National Superintendent of the Year Award. He’ll meet with the association’s national education committee in January, with the winner announced in February and a $10,000 student scholarship tied to the winning superintendent’s home area.
   

4. Historic downtown Lexington church confirmed as Underground Railroad site (fox56news.com) — A historic downtown Lexington congregation just received national recognition: Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church has been officially confirmed by the National Park Service as part of the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. The 1826 church, believed to be Lexington’s oldest, once sheltered freedom seekers including Lewis Garrard Clarke, and leaders plan to share tour information in 2026 while seeking community support for preservation.
   

5. Cancer support organizations partner to expand more resources (wkyt.com) — Cancer patients and families in and around Lexington now have expanded support, as Kentucky CancerLink and Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana team up to offer more physical, social, and emotional resources locally. From wigs and prostheses to shared meals and holiday activities, the groups are using a new Lexington space to help people feel less isolated during the season and beyond.
