Court of Appeals slams Lexington judge for dismissing murder case, orders new prosecution (wkyt.com) — A Kentucky appeals court has reinstated a murder case stemming from a 2020 fatal crash on Leestown Road in Lexington, ruling that a Fayette Circuit judge wrongly threw out the indictment. The case now heads back to Fayette Circuit Court for prosecution before a different judge, meaning the victim’s family and local jurors will again play a central role in deciding what happens next.
   

2. Local organizations react to educational funding loss (wpsdlocal6.com) — A Lexington-based education nonprofit, the Prichard Committee, has been told its federal Full Service Community Schools grant will end December 31, threatening support for programs in 40 schools across 20 Kentucky districts.
