Fathers turn grief into action against community violence (spectrumnews1.com) — Louisville fathers recently gathered at the West End Opportunity Center to share grief and brainstorm ways to curb neighborhood violence, supported by the city’s Office of Violence and Prevention. The conversation highlighted how dads are turning personal loss into leadership, alongside groups like Moms of Murdered Sons and Daughters of Kentucky, to build a stronger, safer community.
   

2. Troubled spot in Louisville, Esquire Alley, seeing a dramatic drop in violence (wlky.com) — Esquire Alley in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood, once dubbed “Murder Alley,” hasn’t seen a single shooting or homicide this year, according to the city’s gun violence dashboard. Police credit focused foot patrols, better lighting, cameras, and stronger community relationships with helping residents feel safer and more comfortable being outside with their families again.

SDF has over 104,000 scheduled departing seats this holiday season (wave3.com) — If you’re flying out of Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, expect bigger crowds, with more than 104,000 departures scheduled between Dec. 21 and Jan. 4, a 7% jump from last year. Travelers report mixed experiences, from smooth lines at SDF to long waits at other airports, and some are arriving extremely early to avoid surprises on I-65 and at security.

USPS to unveil Muhammad Ali forever stamps in Louisville (indianapolisrecorder.com) — Louisville will host the national unveiling of two new Muhammad Ali Forever stamps on Jan. 15, 2026, at the University of Louisville’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. Residents can attend the free ceremony, hear from Lonnie Ali and other dignitaries, and even pre-order the stamps now to celebrate the hometown legend’s global legacy.
   

5. Kentucky Derby Festival's annual Golden Ticket Raffle returns offering major VIP prizes (whas11.com) — Louisville Derby fans can buy Golden Ticket Raffle entries now for a shot at VIP access to 2026 Kentucky Derby Festival events, including rides on the Belle of Louisville. With only 1,500 tickets sold and prizes worth over $10,000, locals can score all-inclusive Derby and Oaks tickets plus pins, WineFest access, and more.
