Family of 22-year-old killed in Halloween shooting in Louisville seeking justice (wlky.com) — A Louisville family is pleading for answers after 22-year-old Aumani Martin was fatally shot while leaving a Halloween party on Euclid Avenue, causing him to crash his truck. While LMPD says homicides are down in 2025 thanks to better community trust, Martin’s mother is urging anyone with information to come forward and call the police tip line.
   

2. Louisville group inviting west end neighborhoods to join holiday home decor contest (wdrb.com) — West End residents in Louisville’s Parkland and Park DuValle neighborhoods are invited to turn their homes into festive showpieces for a new Community Covenant Connection holiday decor contest. Neighbors will vote on their favorite displays, and winners will receive cash prizes announced on Christmas Day, all to boost community pride and togetherness.
   

3. Holiday season brings joy… and germs, Norton Children's says - WNKY News 40 Television (wnky.com) — Louisville families heading into holiday gatherings are being urged by a Norton Children’s Hospital infectious disease specialist to double down on simple germ-fighting habits like handwashing, staying home when sick, and handling food safely. With cold and flu season peaking as people travel and crowd indoors, he stresses that basic hygiene and up-to-date vaccinations can keep vulnerable relatives out of the hospital.
   

4. Louisville artist Shae Goodlett selected for 2026 Derby Festival poster (wdrb.com) — A Louisville native, artist and educator Shae Goodlett has been selected as the official poster artist for the 2026 Kentucky Derby Festival, putting local talent front and center on next year’s merchandise. His bold, energetic design will appear on posters, apparel, mugs, and accessories when the full artwork is unveiled in February.
