1. ‘We knew something was up': MetroSafe 911 workers process responding to UPS plane crash calls (wave3.com) — Louisville’s MetroSafe 911 center handled more than double its usual call volume after the November 4 UPS plane crash, fielding over 1,400 calls in three hours. Operators describe the chaos, the rapid coordination of first responders, and how a LENSAlert quickly warned more than 250,000 Jefferson County residents to shelter in place. The story also explains how you can sign up for future safety alerts.
   

2. Gov. Beshear says '25 is the state's second-best year on record for new private sector investments (nkytribune.com) — Louisville’s economy is getting a major boost, with Ford planning a nearly $2 billion investment at the Louisville Assembly Plant and GE Appliances putting $490 million into its Louisville headquarters to reshore laundry production from China. Gov. Andy Beshear says these and other projects helped make 2025 Kentucky’s second-best year ever for private-sector investments, with billions in new projects and thousands of jobs statewide.

Retro Louisville: First Braille encyclopedia completed inside APH (courier-journal.com) — Louisville’s American Printing House for the Blind once produced the first Braille edition of the World Book Encyclopedia, a massive 145-volume set completed in 1961. Backed by a major foundation gift, the Louisville-based team later created an extensive cassette version, all documented with photos preserved by University of Louisville archivists.

LMPD seeks witnesses as man found shot to death inside car in southwest Louisville (whas11.com) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man in his 20s was found shot multiple times inside a vehicle on Fordhaven Road in southwest Louisville and later died. Detectives say many people were nearby during the shooting and are urging anyone with information to contact the anonymous LMPD tip line or use the online Crime Tip Portal.
