Supporting Alzheimer's Research

Breakthroughs are great but additional funding is needed

Did you know that the risk for Alzheimer’s disease is 1 in 5 for women at the age of 45 while the risk for men is 1 in 10? And that women’s health receives less research funding than men? I did not and after being diagnosed with a chronic condition, I decided to return to school to obtain a master’s in public health focused on chronic conditions affecting women. And, with Alzheimer’s, we are beginning to see breakthroughs in research.

Thanks to Congress and our nationwide network of committed advocates, we have made incredible strides in our fight to end Alzheimer’s. By continuing to invest in Alzheimer’s and dementia research, care, and support, we can make a real difference in the landscape of diagnosis and treatment. I am calling on my Representative Morgan McGarvey to support dementia research at the National Institutes of Health, as well as the NAPA Reauthorization Act, Alzheimer’s Accountability and Investment Act, and the BOLD Reauthorization Act.

We have made incredible progress in the fight to end Alzheimer’s, but our work is not done. If you have a family member, friend, associate, neighbor, co-worker affected by Alzheimer's, please contact your Representative to ask for their support in continuing the research to end Alzheimer's and All Other Dementia.
