Woman Wins Lottery, Hands Out Gift Cards To Strangers At Grocery Store

LOUISVILLE, KY — A Louisville woman who won over $100,000 in the Kentucky Lottery saw her good luck as an opportunity to pay it forward.

Crystal Dunn won $146,351 playing the Banker Buster Jackpot Instant Play online game July 7, according to a lottery news release.

“I never thought I would win something like this, but this goes to show it can happen,” she said in the news release.

Dunn received $103,909.73, after taxes. She deposited the money, and then stopped at Meijer, where she bought $2,000 in gift cards and gave them at random to shoppers in the store.

“I believe in paying it forward and I wanted to pass it along,” Dunn said in the news release.

As for the rest of her winnings, she plans to put them toward buying a new car and paying off bills.
