Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator is offering a basic firearms and personal safety class for women from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12 and April 2 at the Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy.

Sheriff’s deputies will teach safe handling and firing of handguns on the Academy firing range. Ladies will also learn basic self-defense, situational awareness, and personal safety. Participants are asked to bring their own handgun and ammunition.
The course is free, but pre-registration is required by calling Community Programs at 681-0875. The Caddo Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy is located at 15639 Hwy. 1 South.
