Dion Leonard, an Australian/British ultramarathon runner and highly regarded motivational speaker, is the author of Finding Gobi. Finding Gobi is the incredible true story of how Leonard and his faithful companion, Gobi, came to form a lifelong friendship. While competing in a 155-mile race through the Gobi Desert in China, seasoned ultramarathon runner Dion Leonard and a scrappy little stray dog, later named Gobi, cross paths. The lovable pup proved that what she lacked in size, she more than made up for in heart, as she went step for step with Dion over the Tian Shan Mountains, across massive sand dunes, through yurt villages and the black sands of the Gobi Desert, keeping pace with Leonard for nearly 80 miles.

Children and adults are invited to hear the incredible story and to meet both Leonard and Gobi. Leonard, with the assistance of Gobi, will host a storytime reading of the children’s book, Finding Gobi, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 7, at the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch, located at 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
