2 Lacrosse Athletes From AACC Honored As National Players Of The Week

Two lacrosse athletes from Anne Arundel Community College won national player of the week awards. They combined for 13 goals and 8 assists.

ARNOLD, MD — Two lacrosse athletes from Anne Arundel Community College won player of the week honors. The Riverhawks announced the news on March 31.

Attacker Eva McCormick took home NJCAA Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week. Midfielder Sam Kelley snagged the men's equivalent.

Women's Lacrosse

McCormick scored 3 goals and tallied 2 assists in a March 26 win at No. 2 Onondaga Community College. The freshman from Gambrills posted 4 more goals and another assist the next day in a road win over 4th-ranked Monroe Community College. The Annapolis High School graduate now has 11 goals and just as many assists on the year.

The No. 3 women's team is 4-2 on the year. The squad will host Monroe Community College Sunday at noon. Additional details about the women are posted on this website.

Men's Lacrosse

Kelley tallied 4 goals and 2 assists in a win at No. 8 Delaware Technical Community College on March 23. The freshman from Arnold followed that performance with a pair of goals and 3 assists in a home win over West Virginia University Potomac State College on March 26. The Broadneck High School graduate has collected 8 goals and 12 assists this season.

The 6th-ranked men are 4-3. The crew will head to New Jersey Wednesday to face Mercer County Community College at 5 p.m. More info on the men is available here.
