Police are investigating an overnight car theft this week.
Between 8:30 p.m. Monday and 8:15 a.m., Tuesday, a maroon Mazda MX5 was stolen from the 1500 block of West Street, according to police. The car's key had been in a vehicle that was earlier stolen and recovered, according to a release.
The car was found parked and unoccupied in the 500 block of Royal Street shortly after it was reported missing, according to police. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
