The Annual Oyster Roast & Sock Burning will take place on Mar. 18 for everyone interested in welcoming spring and boating season.

From Annapolis Maritime Museum:Every March, Annapolis welcomes spring with a unique and fun tradition--the annual Oyster Roast & Sock Burning. Burning socks in the end of winter bonfire at the shoreline of the Annapolis Maritime Museum celebrates the beginning of boating season. This year, the Annapolis Maritime Museum’s Seventh Annual Oyster Roast & Sock Burning will be held on Saturday, March 18, from 12 to 4 p.m

The 2017 Annapolis Oyster Roast & Sock Burning is presented by Trammell Crow Company, one of the nation’s leading developers and investors in commercial real estate with a new investment in North Anne Arundel County.

“We sincerely appreciate the partnership and support Trammell Crow Company has given to ensure this year’s fundraiser success,” said Alice Estrada, the Executive Director of the Annapolis Maritime Museum.

Trammell Crow Company has been part of the greater Washington and Maryland community since 1976 and we believe it critical for a development and investment company to give back and be a part of the neighborhood and the community fabric.”

Admission to the event includes unlimited raw and roasted oysters, live music from the Eastport Oyster Boys, admission to the Museum’s exhibits, and a chance to enter the oyster shucking competition. Barbeque, lobster rolls, beer, wine, Bloody Marys, dark & stormies, and more will be available for purchase.
