ANNAPOLIS, MD — A new jewelry store cut the ribbon Friday in the Annapolis Harbour Center.

The store, named Bloomstone Jewelers, specializes in lab-grown diamonds. These synthetic gems are just as real as naturally found ones. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically the same as natural alternates, but they are cheaper.

"Bloomstone Jewelers is now open!" Annapolis Harbour Center said April 10 on Facebook. "The new diamond boutique, serving exclusively lab-grown diamonds and gems, aims to make the diamond dream more accessible by offering a wide selection of styles in-store and online."

Bloomstone Jewelers Owner Constance Polamalu is also involved in two downtown Annapolis jewelry stores. Polamalu is the chief operating officer at Zachary's Jewelers and the founder of Birthright Foundry, Naptown Scoop said.

Polamalu gained some national attention a few years ago. Pop star Lizzo wore one of Birthright Foundry's earring sets at the 2022 Met Gala in New York City, Chesapeake Bay Media reported.
