ANNAPOLIS, MD — A Hawaiian restaurant opened its first Anne Arundel County location recently, and it's celebrating with a grand opening luau this Saturday.

Blowfish Poké Hawaiian Grill overlooks Ego Alley in Annapolis at 122 Dock St. It's sandwiched between Bitty & Beau's Coffee and Eagle Souvenir.

Blowfish replaced Moe's Southwest Grill, which struggled to reopen after the January 2024 flood that swamped storefronts along City Dock.

Poké is an umbrella term referring to chunks of raw marinated fish, traditionally tuna, marinated in soy sauce and sesame oil and mixed with onion. It is often served in a Chipotle-style bowl with an assortment of toppings and raw or cooked proteins. Blowfish's protein selection ranges from tuna and salmon to puff tofu and shrimp tempura.

Blowfish also serves Hawaiian sandwiches and barbecue. Another favorite is the spam musubi, grilled spam on rice, wrapped in seaweed and served with sauce.

Guests can wash their meals down with fresh boba drinks.

Blowfish has three other locations. Two, Clarksville and Marriottsville, are in Maryland. The other is in Washington, D.C.

The Annapolis location features bright blue accents, digital ordering kiosks and an island-themed design. Photos of the space are posted here.

The restaurant debuted at a pop-up event on March 9 during the Annapolis St. Patrick's parade and festival. It has been open in its soft opening phase since March 23. Saturday's luau and grand opening ceremony starts at 11 a.m.

Blowfish is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
