Custom Furniture Store Opens in Annapolis Arts District

Two local artists are offering a fully customizable furniture at 1429 MFG in the heart of downtown.

Bridgette Hamilton and Cindy Gross are the owners of 1429 MFG, a custom furniture store that opened in the Arts District of Annapolis in November of 2015.

“We have set ourselves apart from other furniture companies not only by our unique designs, but we are the first to offer truly customizable furniture to home owners, commercial clients and to the trade,” says Gross. “We have developed a system that allows us to print directly on furniture, the artwork can be one of our designs or something custom created specifically for a client.”

The two owners design each piece of furniture while working with a group of artisans to create handcrafted goods.

The store offers an array of pre-designed furniture on display in the studio. The collection currently consists of side tables, coffee tables, headboards, dining and console tables. The duo is in the process of adding more pieces to the collection.

“Some clients like the pieces as designed and others ask for modifications,” explains Gross. “For example, one of our clients really liked our Nora dining table but wanted to use the concept for a desk. Since everything is build to order, we can adjust the dimensions, features and artwork to fulfill the client’s wishes.”
