Daughter Who Injected Dad With Heroin Gets Jail Time

A Delaware woman was convicted of injecting her father with heroin, causing him to die in an Ocean City hotel room, prosecutors said.

OCEAN CITY, MD — A Delaware woman accused of fatally injecting her father with heroin in Ocean City has been convicted of manslaughter, the state's attorney's office announced.

Justeen Nichole Wittaker, 29, of Dover was sentenced Wednesday to ten years in prison with all but three suspended for her involvement in the death of her father, the Worcester County State's Attorney's Office said.

Whittaker admitted in a police interview that her father asked her to inject him with heroin because he was too intoxicated to do it himself, according to the state's attorney's office.

Detectives discovered items indicative of heroin consumption in the hotel room and an autopsy determined he died of a fentanyl overdose, prosecutors said.

“The community needs to know that as quickly as heroin can steal a life, this office will seek to take your freedom if you knowingly deal, distribute or administer drugs and it results in someone’s death," Interim State's Attorney Bill McDermott said in a news release, according to Farmington Daily Times.
