Defense Highway Reopened After Fatal Wreck Damaged Pole
For eight hours, a 2.7-mile stretch of the roadway was closed for investigation of a fatal wreck.

A 2.7-mile stretch of Defense Highway in Annapolis was reopened to traffic at noon after being closed during an accident investigation, police said.
A man was killed early Monday morning after his vehicle struck an electrical pole on Defense Highway near The Ridges Gateway.
Over the next eight hours, authorities closed the roadway for investigation and repair to the pole, according to Anne Arundel County Police spokesman T.J. Smith.
"We closed the road for accident investigation and then for repair of the BGE/Verizon pole that was damaged and causing a road hazard. The roadway was opened within the last hour."
