Fireworks Cause Overnight House Fire Near Mulberry Hills
Three residents in the Annapolis area were able to escape the home without injuries.

A home in the 200 block of Providence Road near the Mulberry Hills community of Annapolis was engulfed in flames early Tuesday morning.
Just after midnight, Anne Arundel County firefighters arrived at the dwelling and saw the roof of the garage was on fire.
In total, 29 firefighters from Anne Arundel, Annapolis and the Naval Academy were able to bring the blaze under control in less than 30 minutes, according to a press release from the county fire department.

“The cause of the fire was determined to be used legal fireworks that had been placed in a trash can within the garage,” according to the release.
Three residents were able to escape the home before the fire department arrived. No injuries were reported.

There were two vehicles located in the garage. Including the home and the vehicles, the total damage is estimated to be $250,000, a department representative said.
