First Spring Farmers Market Opens Saturday

The county farmers market will open at 7 a.m. near Riva Road and Harry S. Truman Parkway.

We may still be waiting for spring weather to arrive, but local farmers will be out selling their wares in Annapolis this week.

The Anne Arundel County Farmers market will open on Saturday at 7 a.m., with as many as 40 vendors on site at the corner of Riva Road and Harry S. Truman Parkway. 

The farmers market will be the first to open this spring in the county, the winter farmers market at Westfield Annapolis mall will close for the season on April 21.

Four other farmers markets will open later this spring and summer in Odenton, Deale, Severna Park and at the Department of Natural Resources headquarters on Taylor Avenue.

The farmers market on Riva Road will be open Saturdays through Dec. 21. It will also be open Tuesday mornings from May 29 to Oct. 29.
