The Independence Day celebrations in downtown Annapolis are just a week away—are you ready?
The events kick off with a parade down West and Main streets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by the annual fireworks display in Annapolis Harbor.
The light show will be viewable from several locations, including Spa Creek Bridge, and Susan Campbell Park—both of which afford magnificent views each year, however they are also the most crowded locations.
Thinking of getting a better view from the water? Contact the City Harbormaster’s Office at 410-263-7973 for questions about boating restrictions during the event.
If you're thinking of parking nearby, city officials advise that Spa Creek Bridge, the main entrance to downtown, will be closed to traffic by 9 p.m. to allow for spectators to gather.
Parking will be available in the Park Place Garage or the Knighton Garage for $10 a day, or $2 an hour. Both garages are on the parade route. For additional information on parking downtown, visit the city's website.
From 4 p.m.-10:30 p.m., parking will be prohibited in the following areas:
- City Dock
