Heavy Rain, Possible Storms to Start the Week: Maryland Weather Forecast

The workweek will start off wet before skies clear mid-week and temperatures hang in the mid-80s, according to the National Weather Service.

We'll see showers on Monday, with a thunderstorm possible, again with a chance for locally heavy rainfall and isolated flooding, particularly along the Interstate 95 corridor. The best chance will be in the morning and early afternoon.

There's a slight chance for more rain on Tuesday, but skies should clear by mid-day and we'll be mostly sunny with highs near 85 degrees for the rest of the week. And look for a dip into the 70s by the end of the weekend, according to forecasters.

The tropics are staying busy, with Tropical Depression Julia eyeing the North Carolina coast and Tropical Storm Karl making its way across the Atlantic.

Monday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. High near 77. Light and variable wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. North wind 3 to 7 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 85.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
