Homicide Victim Found Dead In Park May Be From Annapolis: Police
Police are looking to identify the man found dead in Wheaton Sept. 5. He is described as a Hispanic male, possibly from the Annapolis area.

WHEATON, MD — Investigators are working to identify the man whose body was found in Wheaton Regional Park in Montgomery County Tuesday, Sept. 5. Police believe he could be from the Annapolis area. (Subscribe to the Annapolis Patch for realtime, breaking news alerts.)
The body was located at 11715 Orebaugh Ave. in Wheaton, police said. There was trauma to the body and the Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore has ruled the manner of death a homicide.
Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the victim and are providing the following information about him:

- He is described by police as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’2″ tall, and weighs 126 pounds. He has short, dark brown hair.
- He was missing a bottom tooth located near the front of his mouth.
- He was wearing a men’s size large, gray sweatshirt, with the words, “First United Methodist Church Laurel” written on the left chest of the sweatshirt.
- Under the sweatshirt he was wearing a men’s size large, gray, hooded, long-sleeve American Eagle shirt.
- He was wearing men’s size medium, black sweatpants. The brand was Adam Levine.
- He was wearing black ankle socks.
- He is possibly from Annapolis based on evidence collected.
- Through investigation, it was determined that it is possible that the victim was killed during the approximate time period of December 2016 to March 2017.

A man's body was found by a hiker in the Long Branch Stream Valley Park in Silver Spring the day after on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The man has been identified as Cristopher Alfredo Funes Guerra, 20, of Silver Spring. Guerra's family reported him as missing on Sept. 3, police said.

At about 11:22 a.m. Wednesday, police received a call from a resident who discovered a body in the park near 8800 Garland Ave. in Silver Spring. Homicide investigators and members of the Maryland National Capitol Park Police Department responded to the scene and found the man's body, police said.
