The man was hospitalized following the incident, police said.

Police removed a man from his vehicle Wednesday afternoon after he was spotted with a gun in the Forest Drive Home Depot parking lot in Annapolis.

Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman Lieutenant T.J. Smith said police were alerted to the presence of a man parked in the lot with a gun.

When police arrived, they cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of nearby residents, then removed the man from his vehicle, breaking a window in the process. No officer used their service weapons during the incident, Smith said.
