New Eastport Pet Salon Treats Furry Friends Like Family

Eastport pets—prepare for a makeover.

Grand Paws Pet Salon opened its doors this month at its new Eastport location after moving the business from West Annapolis.

Business owner Heather Hinkle said the new location affords her more space to grow her clientele, which she said would take time. But pets at Grand Paws are "treated like family," she said.

“We realize choosing a place to take your pet for grooming can be a tough decision," Hinkle said. “We welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and confidence."

The official ribbon cutting for the business took place Tuesday, attended by Mayor Josh Cohen, and Lara Fritts, the president of the Economic Development Corporation for Annapolis.

“Annapolis is known for being a dog-friendly city," Cohen said. “While many of our residents are dog and cat-friendly, having businesses that caters to the individual demands of our pet community fulfills a genuine need and is part of our enduring appeal.”

Fritts even brought along her own dog, Harold, to the event. Fritts adopted him from a Grand Paws adoption event earlier that month.

“For many of us, our pets are members of our families,” Fritts said.  “AEDC is thrilled to see businesses expand, and moving to this new location speaks to the need for businesses that cater to the pet population and offer unique services.”

Grand Paws Pet Salon is located at 921 B Chesapeake Ave. in Eastport. For more information, visit www.grandpawsannapolis.com or call (443) 949-7199.
