Premier League Soccer Match To Be Played At Navy Stadium

ANNAPOLIS, MD — English Premier League soccer teams Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers (widely known as “Wolves”) will compete in Annapolis at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.

The match is part of an East Coast U.S. tour known as The Stateside Cup.

Annapolis residents should expect traffic congestion in the area of Navy Marine-Corps Memorial Stadium (Rowe Boulevard, Taylor Avenue and Farragut Road) from 5 p.m. until the end of the match (about 10 p.m.).

“We are grateful the Premier League selected Annapolis as one of the locations for the Stateside Cup,” said Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley in a news release. “We’ve been watching the Annapolis Blues grow their fan base this season and I am confident that bringing Premier League play to our community will further boost the appeal of this exciting sport. I can’t wait to hear the crowds cheer ‘GOAL!’ later this month.”
