"We have been serving the Roseda gourmet burgers at our complex in Aberdeen for over a year and they have been a great hit with the families attending camps and tournaments there," Hall of Famer and Ripken Baseball founder Cal Ripken Jr. said in a statement. "Partnering with a wonderful local company like Roseda Beef on such a high quality product was important to me and the fact that an industry leader like Giant will be the exclusive carrier of the burgers is exciting and will get it to families in the region quickly."

Ed Burchell, owner of Baltimore-based Roseda Beef, called the partnership "very exciting for our business."

"We are proud to be local and having brands like Ripken Baseball and Giant behind us is a game changer," Burchell said in a statement. "In addition, we are a family business and proud that we will be supporting under-served kids through the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation."

Giant Food president Anthony Hucker deemed the burger "a terrific product."

"Giant has always been committed to supporting local brands; and partnering with Roseda Beef and Cal Ripken, a trusted baseball legend, is a great fit," he said in a statement. "Like Roseda Beef and Ripken, we’ve made our home in the Baltimore-Washington region and have similar traditions of supporting our communities."
