St. John's College Presents 'Maryland History Lecture Series' March 29 (Update)

On March 29 St. John's College will host Ralph Crosby and his new book 'Memoirs of a Main Street Boy'.

From St.John's College: After a snowstorm earlier this month canceled the appearance, St. John’s College will present Annapolis author Ralph Crosby for its “Maryland History Lecture Series” on Wednesday, March 29. Crosby will discuss his new book, “Memoirs of a Main Street Boy,” about growing up in downtown Annapolis during the 1930s-1950s. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium and admission is free.

Crosby’s memoir chronicles life in Annapolis, Md., during the country’s most disruptive, yet most dynamic, period—from the end of the Great Depression through World War II and the Korean and Cold War. The book blends memories from that time with the story of Annapolis’ unique place in American history, weaving in significant events from the town’s Colonial past.

The book has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, a prestigious award for books published by small presses.
