Weather Moves 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony to Monday
Fifth-graders will gather at Annapolis Middle 9 a.m. Monday for a rescheduled ceremony.

Summer came early for students at Georgetown East Elementary this year. Thursday night's severe weather blew out a transformer, and canceled school for the final day of the year.
As a result, the fifth-grade promotion ceremony was placed in limbo, upsetting some parents, including Urban Annapolis Magazine publisher Tarsha Beavers.
Beavers reached out to Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen on Twitter to see if something could be done. According to Twitter, Cohen called the superintendent's office, and an hour later, news began spreading of a rescheduled ceremony.
