No Threat Found At HCC, Normal Activities Can Resume (UPDATE)
Authorities conducted a sweep of the college and determined that no shots were fired. Buildings are still being searched as a precaution.

BEL AIR, MD — Students at Harford Community College received a text message Saturday warning of an active shooter situation on campus and authorities searched the area but found that no shots were fired.
The Harford County Sheriff's office said that around 2 p.m. deputies received a call for a possibly armed suspect and shots fired. Deputies secured the area and after speaking with multiple witnesses they found that no shots had been fired. One person reported seeing someone holding a possible firearm and others reported seeing a person with a mask, however no one matching that description was located. As a precaution, authorities are continuing to clear every building on the campus but they do not believe there is any threat to the college community.

In a brief update posted to Twitter, the college said normal activities can resume since the police investigation determined that the campus is safe.
The safety message sent to students said the location of the threat was at the college's baseball grounds and field. The message warned to avoid the area. The same message was also posted to the school's website, Twitter and Facebook pages.

HCC officials did not provide further information on the situation beyond the safety message that was sent out. School officials said they would provide more information when they have it.
