2 Teens Disappear After Leaving Walter Johnson High School

Two teenagers from North Bethesda went missing after leaving Walter Johnson High School, Montgomery County Police said.

(Updated at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday): BETHESDA, MD — Police are searching for two North Bethesda teenagers who did not return home from school. Gladys Gabiela Rios-Gonzalez, 15, and Jessica Idalia Carranza Montoya, 15, were last seen leaving Walter Johnson High School and have not been heard from since.

Rios-Gonzalez, of Montrose Road, left school at dismissal at about 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 and did not return home, police said.

Montoya, of Kingsford Road, was last seen leaving the school at dismissal on Monday, police said.

Police and family are concerned for Rios-Gonzalez and Montoya's welfare.

Police describe Rios-Gonzalez as a Hispanic female, 5’4” and weighs about 150 pounds. She has black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black jacket over a plaid green and black shirt, dark blue pants, black Puma sneakers, and carrying a red backpack.

Montoya is described by police as a Hispanic female, 5'3" and weighs about 174 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black sweater over a grey t-shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these teens is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
