DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of a 14-year-old Suitland girl.

On May 31 around 1:50 p.m., officers with the District Heights Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the 6600 block of Atwood Street for a report of a shooting. Khamya Ferrell, 14, and a woman were found inside an apartment with gunshot wounds. A man was found outside outside with injuries. All three were taken to a hospital. Ferrell was pronounced dead June 5 while the two adults survived their injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed Ferrell was struck by a stray bullet and was not the intended target. Waters and three other suspects had been targeting a group of individuals with whom they had an on-going feud.
