OXON HILL, MD — Two Virginia residents have been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a Washington, D.C., woman in Oxon Hill.
On Nov. 26 around 2:45 A.M., Prince George's police officers were called to the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road for a report of a shooting. They found 26-year-old Tamara Jones of Washington, D.C., in her vehicle with a gunshot wound. She died three days later, according to the police department.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects knew the victim and shot her during an argument. Police have charged 37-year-old Carlas Carter and 26-year-old Mary Ashby, both from Alexandria, Virginia, in connection to the shooting. Carter was a bus driver for Alexandria City Public Schools at the time of the incident but was placed on leave, school officials noted.
