Police Bust Illegal Car Rallies, Confiscate Stolen Vehicle And Arrest two

Two people were arrested and a stolen vehicle recovered when police broke up three illegal car rallies Sunday afternoon.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Several illegal car rallies were broken up by police and a stolen vehicle recovered by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force in Prince George's County Sunday afternoon.

Law enforcement cracked down on public roads, industrial zones and parking lots across the county and dismantled three driving events starting at 2 p.m. May 18. Officers blocked up to 300 participants from shutting down roads and engaging in exhibition driving and disorderly conduct, Maryland State Police reported.

  • 6101 Van Dusen Road in Laurel

  • 15887 Commerce Court in Upper Marlboro

Maryland State Police arrested and charged Kendyll Johwan Grace, 24, of Bowie with theft of a motor vehicle/unlawful taking and possession of a stolen vehicle over $25,000. Police believe the vehicle was stolen from a Baltimore County car dealership. Grace also had two outstanding warrants on unrelated driving offenses. Grace was processed at the College Park Barrack and taken to the Prince George’s County Detention Center, Maryland State Police reported.

Police conducted several other traffic stops resulting in citations and warnings being issued, which included the arrest of Pierre Charles Lee, 36, of Washington, D.C., who was wanted on an active warrant for first-degree burglary. A 17-year-old was charged for operating an unregistered vehicle during a separate traffic stop, Maryland State Police stated.
