$50K Lotto Prize Allows Man To Remodel His Mom's Bathroom
A Prince George's County retired federal worker won $50K playing Pick 5. He plans to use his money to remodel his mom's bathroom.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A lottery player from Prince George's used his birthday digits and ended up winning a Pick 5 $50,000 prize.
The retired federal worker, who used the alias “Magic Touch,” told Maryland Lottery officials he has played his birthday digits for the past three years and was happy his persistence paid off.
“I couldn’t believe that number hit. I was very shocked and happy,” said the big winner.

He was sitting at home when he checked his tickets on his phone and saw his numbers were drawn. The winner plans to use some of his prize to give his mother a gift.
“I want to get her bathroom done,” he said.

The Pick 5 player purchased the winning ticket at Modern Liquors at 2358 Iverson Street in Temple Hills. For selling the ticket, the Prince George’s County retailer will receive a bonus of $500 from the lottery.
