BELTSVILLE, MD — A Beltsville man is facing charges after authorities said he impersonated a police officer.

Jonathan Michael Davis, 33, was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and other related firearms offenses after police found multiple handguns, handcuffs, a tactical vest and several badges in his car during an Oct. 11 traffic stop, authorities said.

According to Prince George's County police, Davis was driving a black Chevy Tahoe in the area of Laurel Bowie Road and Montpelier Drive when he was pulled over by police around 9:50 p.m. The SUV was equipped with blue and red lights and sirens, police said, and officers also found a ghost gun inside the vehicle.

Detectives later obtained a search warrant for Davis's home. During a search of the home on Oct. 17, multiple items were recovered, which police said also indicated Davis could potentially be impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have encountered Davis when he was presenting himself as a law enforcement officer. Anyone who would like to speak to a detective may call 301-937-0910.
