From Burnout to Brunches and Bali: Bowie Mom Builds a Global Sisterhood One Playdate at a Time
One Bowie mom turned burnout into a movement—helping high-achieving women of color find joy, sisterhood, and space to breathe.
It began with something simple.
A few moms in Prince George’s County came together for brunch—no agenda, just a break from the nonstop demands of work, caregiving, and the mental load that never seems to end. What we didn’t know then was that one small moment of connection would spark something bigger.
That gathering turned into Busy Mom Playdates®, a Bowie-based brand that’s now helped nearly 200 women reclaim joy, confidence, and ease—from spa days and yoga sessions to passport-stamped “momcations” in places like Ghana, Morocco, and Bali.

What started as a way to breathe turned into a lifestyle—and a reminder that we don’t need permission to choose ourselves.
📍 From Local Moments to Global Momentum
We’re rooted right here in PG County, but the impact has grown far beyond it. Every Playdate is designed to meet women where they are—with real rest, real fun, and spaces that feel affirming. We primarily serve high-performing Black women—especially Gen X moms 40 and up—who are used to doing it all, often without recognition or a pause.

After building a global sisterhood rooted in rest and joy, we began hearing something new from our community: “I keep hearing about AI and ChatGPT, but I’m lost. Can someone just show me how it works?”
So we listened.
That moment led to the creation of AI Playdates—a new kind of experience designed to help smart, capable women catch up with today’s tools without feeling overwhelmed or left out. It’s not about being techy. It’s about being prepared.
A New Kind of Confidence
Our first AI Playdate, held virtually in early June, drew over 125 women—many of whom had never opened ChatGPT. The response made it clear: this wasn’t just a workshop. It was a shift. One that gave women the language, clarity, and confidence to use AI in ways that support how they live, work, and lead.
These sessions are built to meet you where you are. Whether you’re helping your kids with homework, organizing your business ideas, or just trying to save time during a busy week, AI can be a tool that works with you—not against you.
That’s what the next chapter of Busy Mom Playdates® is all about.
More Than a Break. It’s a Shift.
The stories we hear after every experience are what matter most. Women who finally took a trip for themselves. Moms who now start the week with a plan—and a sense of peace. A moment that changed how they move through the rest of the year.
That’s what we’re building: space to reconnect with yourself, try something new, and be part of a community that gets it.
