Concerts Canceled, Pools Closed In Prince George's County Due To Incoming Tropical Storm

The M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George's has canceled all outdoor programming and closed pools early Aug. 8.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — All outdoor programming has been canceled for the afternoon and evening of Aug. 8 due to incoming Tropical Storm Debby, which has been forecast to reach Maryland by Friday morning after it weakens to a tropical depression. Marylanders should still anticipate heavy rainfall, flash flooding and strong wind.

  • The Wonderful World of Watkins at Watkins Regional Park closed today at 1 p.m.
  • Concerts at Watkins Park originally scheduled for today at 7 p.m. have been postponed due to inclement weather.
  • Come Out and Play at Ardmore Neighborhood Park and Lane Manor Park scheduled for today have been canceled, too.
  • Outdoor aquatic facilities closed at 3 p.m. today.
  • All indoor facilities will remain open and indoor programs will continue as planned.
