Couple Charged In Shooting Death Of Suitland Man During Argument At His Apartment
A boyfriend and his girlfriend have been charged in connection to the shooting death of a Suitland man during a argument at his apartment.
SUITLAND, MD — A man from Temple Hills and his girlfriend have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Suitland Nov. 15.
The incident happened Nov. 15, 2024, around 5:45 p.m. Prince George's police officers were called to the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive for a report of a shooting. They found 30-year-old Brian Speaks of Suitland in an apartment building with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
During an investigation, detectives identified 30-year-old Francis Holmes Jr. of Temple Hills as the suspect and determined that he shot Speaks because of an argument Speaks had with another person Holmes knew. The two men did not know each other prior to the shooting. Detectives also arrested 28-year-old Marquis Anbaz, identified as Holmes' girlfriend, who has been charged with accessory after the fact after conspiring with Holmes to hide the gun after the fatal shooting, according to police.

Holmes has been charged with first-and second-degree murder, as well as other charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
