Maryland Weather Forecast: Dangerous Heat Returning This Week

Comfortable temperatures will be a thing of the past by the middle of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The break in the high temperatures over the past few days is about to move out of the area, and will be replaced by 100-degree heat and storm threats, according to the latest forecast.

The heat index, or "feels like" temperature, will climb to the upper 90s by Wednesday and is expected to hit 100 degrees by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Areas east of Interstate 95 and along the interstate may see these temperatures reach the low 100s.

The heat index will stay high through the weekend, according to forecasters.
