Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, cousins and all other father figures are invited to join this event to kickoff the 2017-2018 school year. "Whether it is your child or another child for whom you would like to be a great example, please send a message that men across our county and nation are stepping up to strengthen our schools and our communities," council member Mel Franklin (D-District 9) said in a statement. Participants are asked to use the hashtag #fatherhoodstrong on photos from the day posted to social media.
