Fires Damage Morningside Tire Shop, District Heights Apartment Complex

The PGFD reported battles blazes at a tire shop in Morningside Jan. 17 and at a District Heights apartment complex Jan. 18.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two fires Jan. 17 and Jan. 18 damaged an apartment complex and a tire shop.

The Prince George's Fire and Rescue/EMS Department responded to a commercial building fire Jan. 17 at 1:40 p.m. at 6711 Suitland Road, Morningside. Firefighters arrived to find the fire consuming most of the tire shop. No injuries were reported, the fire department reported.

The next day, firefighters were called to an apartment complex located in the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road in District Heights around 9:30 p.m. They immediately saw flames shooting through the top floor and roof. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
