Freeze Warning Issued For Friday Across Prince George's County From 2 AM to 9 AM

A freeze warning has been issued for Prince George's County Friday from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. with a warmup forecast for the weekend.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A freeze warning for Prince George's County will take effect Friday at 2 a.m. and last until 9 a.m. The National Weather Service anticipates sub-freezing temperatures across southern Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel and Charles counties along with the District of Columbia.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. The National Weather Service recommends protecting plants from the cold and take steps to prevent the bursting of unprotected outdoor plumbing by wrapping or draining pipes. In-ground sprinkler systems should be drained and above-ground pipes should be covered.

According to the National Weather Service, the widespread frost will be prevalent after 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. Friday. The sun will make an appearance with a high near 53. Saturday will be sunny again and a bit warmer with the high approaching 56. Sunday the temperature will reach 58 with mostly sunny conditions.
